Why buy a property in Turkey?
Apartments from £19,950
Where else can you buy beachfront property for under £20,000? Turkey represents one of the best investment opportunities in Europe.
Turkey is a beautiful country, famous for its stunning bays, golden sandy beaches and
charming fishing villages. Despite its rich historical background, today, Turkey is a
cultural haven with a vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Located between two continents, Europe and Asia and surrounded by the Aegean, Black, Mediterranean and Marmara Sea, Turkey boasts a favourable all-year-round climate with hot summers and mild winters, not too dissimilar to the favourable temperatures in southern Spain.
EU Membership
Turkey is three times larger than Britain and has one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Currently undergoing massive changes to allow for full EU Membership by 2015, the future looks bright for Turkey.
In 2005, over 20 million people visited Turkey and this is set to rocket due to the rapid expansion of the tourist industry and the country’s increasing popularity. Only a three hour flight from most European destinations, Turkey is already easily accessible but this will only improve as more airlines and tour operators respond to consumer demand. Turkey is oozing with culture and offers something for everyone — bustling holiday resorts, charming fishing villages, stunning unspoilt beaches, excellent nightlife, extensive sporting facilities and outdoor pursuits.
A wise investment
Property prices in the centre of Bodrum are now more than double those in the surrounding areas and the ripple effect is leading to market growth of around 20% per year.
Getting there
As Bodrum Airport becomes ever more popular, more and more flights are being provided. Turkish Airlines fly from both Manchester and London Heathrow to Bodrum via Istanbul all year round.Charter flights are now available all year round from the UK with more carriers in the summer than winter months. Flights are now available from the UK to Istanbul with EasyJet and it is expected they will introduce further routes into Turkey in the future.
Climate
Turkey’s climate varies greatly between areas though much of the climate along
the southern part of the Aegean coast and the Mediterranean coast is similar.
Whilst some mountainous parts of Turkey will have lying snow nearly all year
round South of Istanbul the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts have typically
Mediterranean climates with increasingly dry, hot summers. Here midwinter is the
rainy season when most of the disturbed weather occurs.
The coastal regions have much milder winters and snow is rare. Except for the eastern part of the Black Sea coastlands, most of Turkey has a very sunny climate even in winter. Average daily sunshine amounts range from three to four hours in midwinter to as much as twelve to thirteen hours in summer.
Although summer temperatures are rather high, the heat is tempered by the low humidity inland and the sea breezes. Occasionally the nights may be sticky and humid on the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts.
